Local Youth Ice Hockey Team to Square Off in Canada
November 28, 2018, Columbia, MD — A record number of youth ice hockey teams battled it out at this year’s Eastern Regional Silver Stick Tournament. Hosted by the Howard Huskies, the tournament was held over three days Thanksgiving weekend.
More than two thousand players formed the134 teams that competed in over 300 games at the seven participating venues in Columbia, Piney Orchard, Frederick, Laurel, Reisterstown, Annapolis, and Rockville, Maryland.
The Hatfield Ice Dogs of Pennsylvania won its championship game, taking home the Midget 16AA division title. Next, they will travel to Newmarket, Ontario to compete in the finals, January 10-13, 2019.
